Thia newsletter cover design was made for the victory edition of WomensCommissionMatters, illustrating women performing various activities in the Cheriyal art of Telangana as we celebrated the formation of TSWC after 30 months of active campaigning.
This teakwood door inspired from Balinese design has been hand-carved by our artisans for the entrance gateway of an art museum dedicated to the late artist Pranab Baruah, who had paved a new path in the contemporary art movement of Assam.
This wall installation has been handpicked from the Bidri handicraft shops in the old city area of Hyderabad. The intricately carved disks are table-tops and the plain disks are serving trays.

This study was undertaken for the Thanima Conference at NIT Calicut. It aims at evaluating urban spatial configurations aesthetically as they affect the kinetic and static population which creates a sense of place and a holistic image of a city. The findings provide an evaluation of Indian urban spaces illustrated through two of the iconic urban pockets of Hyderabad by listing-out and analyzing various aesthetic components.
This independent study explores the applications of bamboo as a building material. Theoretical aspects of u-value and heat transmission are simulated, while primary data is being collected on the actual behavior of the material when used in combination with mud and cement. The findings will provide scientific data on the current trends of bamboo construction.

The client's requirement for an avant-garde headquarters and manufacturing facility was realized through a series of planes and minimal boxes intertwined at angles through bridges and courtyards. The vision is to create a deconstructed star as aligned with the client's business profile of space exploration.

The brief of the competition was to design an iconic building for the state of Assam, which shall serve as the residence for the hon. Governor of Assam as well as a high-profile guest house and offices of the government officials. Our design approach was to adopt the international style of modern architecture, for its universal progressive qualities but at the same time, the design value was placed on the geographical context of the building. With modern planning and minimal ornamentation combined with sloping roof of “Assam type houses” Manicured lawns and fountains create a sense of power and governance which comes from Neo classical style of design.

A cultural center and museum dedicated to the famous modernist painter of Assam- Mr Pranab Baruah. In an era of growing modernization, art and design were being unconnected from regular citizens and craftspeople. To counter this, our design approach was to emphasize on cultural context which was free of any imposed style- this was the very life philosophy of the artist himself. Traditional building crafts and local materials paved the design, Function and simplicity, without spurious ornament have backed the design. Ample natural day-lighting, terracotta jaalis in the windward façade and locally-sourced materials are the highlights of the design.

The community center is a striking example of vernacular architecture blending seamlessly with modern contemporary design, showcasing the essence of tropical modernism. Nestled within Nagaon's tropical landscape, this innovative gathering space harmoniously marries traditional architectural elements with cutting-edge aesthetics. Its open-air design embraces the natural surroundings, allowing for cross-ventilation and ample natural light while utilizing sustainable materials and energy-efficient technologies. The community center not only serves as a functional hub for local residents but also stands as a testament to the fusion of tradition and progress in architecture, creating a welcoming and environmentally-conscious space for all to enjoy.

Location- Guwahati
OIL India's new building in Guwahati city acts both as a symbol and a tool in this transition - a building to lure the future with a connection to its past. The planning is devised as repeating modules inspired by vastu-shastra. A series of terraced floors together form a ‘valley’ that creates informal balconies for break-out spaces- in function as well as façade aesthetics. The client's requirement for glass facade has been fulfilled by applying full glazing at the North-east and North-east facades while blocking solar radiation from the other walls.

Inspired from the early model of Indian modernism, the concept is developed with straight clean lines and the use of raw materials such as brick and concrete in its exposed purist form. The design is an extensive use of the human scale and modernization of certain traditional elements such as outward-facing bay windows and the use of a central courtyard and the built spaces enveloped around it.

The Navagraha Silpukhuri Lake, nestled in the heart of Guwahati city, holds historical significance dating back centuries. Originally built during the Ahom rule in Assam, this picturesque waterbody has witnessed the passage of time, reflecting the cultural and architectural evolution of the region.
Architectural elements inspired by the local culture and history were integrated into the park design. Sculptures, installations, and signage depicting the Navagrahas, the nine celestial bodies revered in Hindu astrology, added a cultural touch to the surroundings. The project also included the restoration of architectural features around the lake, such as ghats and walkways, preserving the heritage of the site.

We put together the brand colours-black and red, product textures of metal and paint, and functional forms of an automobile garage to transform it into a 'bunker'. Metal shelves and glass displays are designed and crafted on-site from sturdy metal and toughened glass, showcasing an array of car parts and accessories with precision and style. The ducts and pipes of exposed ceiling have been incorporated in the design. Grunge-aesthetic lights hanging from the ceiling cast a dramatic glow, highlighting the intricate details of each product. The overall design creates an immersive experience, evoking a sense of excitement and passion for car enthusiasts and professionals alike.

Earthy-tones & natural-textures, along with a pop of yellow metal gives this modern apartment an organic flair. Playing with the characteristics of an old-school modernist apartment design while adding bespoke touches makes the space feel curated and personal. Dark teak, worn-out antique brass accents and organic textures with an olive – mustard - beige - terracotta palette creates the cozy home.

Reader’s Hub Bookstore
Project: Retail bookstore design
Style: Neoclassical
Location: Guwahati
Turning into the classical tradition of rational thinking and moderation. The space has minimal decorating and architectural details, like columns, and detailed cornices in the shop façade.
The shelves have emphasized horizontal and vertical lines with symmetric layouts and geometric decorative elements on the false ceiling. The colors are mostly dark walnut and Prussian blue façade. Overall the retail space creates a very old school charm of an English library which makes it very warm and welcoming.

Women’s Commission Matters: Social Media Posts
This was a successful online campaign for WCM, a non-partisan citizen collective working towards gender equality & a violence free society. After 30 months of our persistent ask & campaign, the women’s commission for Telangana state was reinstated. Shelter 22 contributed by designing all the social media posts across various platforms. The design language produced bold, impactful graphics to raise awareness and turn eyeballs.

AtEase mobile application aims to increase the safety of the people and to decrease the response time during the emergency situations in France. The pitch video to the investors has been designed to distinctly describe its features and functions in an engaging video.

The company required a fresh logo while retaining its brand colour. The new logo projects versatility and competency in healthcare. It is compatible for addition of other iconography for it’s various existing and future verticals. The logo variations have been tested in signages and clothing.
